Ghost Hunting

C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. are a Paranormal Group consisting of 15 members also referred to as "Ghost Hunters".

So what is a Ghost? In traditional belief and fiction, a Ghost is the soul or spirit of a deceased person or animal that can appear, in visible form or other manifestation, to the living. Descriptions of the apparition of Ghosts vary widely from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes, to realistic, life-like visions. The deliberate attempt to contact the spirit of a deceased person is known as necromancy, or in spiritism as a seance.

The belief in manifestations of the spirits of the dead is widespread, dating back to animism or ancestor worship in pre-literate cultures. Certain religious practices, funeral rites, exorcisms and some practices of spiritualism and ritual magic are specifically designed to appease the spirits of the dead. Ghosts are generally described as solitary essences that haunt particular locations, objects or people they were associated with in life, though stories of phantom armies, Ghost trains, phantom ships and even Ghost animals have been recounted.

"C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. employ an honest and open approach to Ghost Hunting and never fabricate evidence or stage activity at events. We never run from paranormal activity, but instead move towards it, which is in essence our Mission Statement".

C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. employ a scientific approach to Ghost Hunting and employ a skeptic, yet open approach.

Ghost Hunting is the process of investigating locations that are reported to be haunted by Ghosts. Typically a Ghost Hunting team like C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. will attempt to collect evidence claimed to be supportive of paranormal activity. Ghost Hunters often utilise a variety of electronic and other equipment, such as the following types: the EMF Meter, Tri-Field Meter, K2 Meter, Digital Thermometer, High Definition Super Night Shot Camcorder, Thermal Imaging Camera, Digital SLR Camera, Digital Audio Recorder, Analogue Audio Recorder, Motion Detectors, Dowsing Rods, Pendulum, Trigger Objects (e.g.: Graph Paper, Flour, Wind-Chimes, Marbles).

Also C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. utilise various Ghost Hunting techniques and practices as well as using the tools to support them on investigations. C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. always use Psychic Protection prior to performing any of their investigations and throughout will rely on their Mediums and Sensitives in the Team to guide the Investigators to certain parts of a premise. Techniques such as Night Vigils, Dowsing, Table Tipping, Seance, Glass Divination and Scrying will be adopted by the Team to draw evidence from a venue. C.A.S.P.E.R. U.K. do not use Ouija Boards as believe these can be used as a portal for more sinister spirits to come through.

By far the easiest way to protect yourself is by visualising the pure White light "Good" coming down into from above into the top of your head and filling your entire body, filling it so full that it glows. This technique is also used by some Hypnotists and it tends to strengthen the aura.

Another method of visualisation is to picture yourself in a place of safety. A common use is a log cabin in the middle of a deep woods. But make it a place where you feel safe and totally secure and nothing is able to get in.

One very good way is to sit down close your eyes take a few deep breaths and relax, then mentally tell yourself: "I am good, I am strong, I am surrounded by an impenetrable wall through, which only good can pass". The words don't have to be exact or even close, go with whatever feels right for you. The purpose of this exercise is to build up your self image, to tell your subconscious mind that you are worth protecting and that you are a worthwhile person.
